We love children at First Baptist! The children’s ministry of First Baptist exists to glorify God by partnering with and equipping parents to lead children to embrace Jesus as Lord and Savior and to pursue God with their whole heart. As part of our aim to lovingly and safely teach our children, all of our children’s teachers and helpers are screened and approved through our Child Abuse Prevention Policy. Our nursery and preschool departments are provided during all regularly scheduled services and our Children’s Ministry schedule is detailed below.
Children's Church - 10:00 am: Children’s Church is set aside for grades 1 through 4 and runs simultaneously with our main morning gathering. During this time, children will experience a worship service designed for elementary students. Typical components of this gathering include praying, singing, and a Bible lesson.
Sunday School - 11:15 am: The goal for the children’s Sunday School classes is to assist parents in helping formulate a solid confidence in the Word of God and develop a Christian worldview.
Nursery: The nursery ministry is provided during our service times for infants through 2 years of age. We trust that parents will find the nursery a safe and welcoming place for their children to be while they attend the main services.
We offer exciting programs that give a midweek "recharge" for children ages kindergarten - 6th grade. We accomplish this through a balance of the instructional and the practical. Kids will learn God's Word and learn to put it into practice. They meet each Wednesday evening from 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm. Another option for those interested, is a Handbell Choir for kids in 4th - 6th grade. Childcare is available for children 5 and under.
Awana is a ministry for ages 3 - 6th Grade. For more information about our Awana Club, click here. Childcare is available for children 2 and under.
